Re-registration (returning students) for school year 2023-2024 will open on
Thursday, November 10, 2022.
Archdiocese of Washington Tuition Assistance Program applications for
RETURNING students will be accepted from October 1, 2022 – December 2, 2022.
Applications (new students) for school year 2023-2024 will open on Thursday,
November 10, 2022, and will be accepted on an ongoing basis until all spaces are
filled. A $150.00 fee will be collected upon submission of application.*
Archdiocese of Washington Tuition Assistance Program applications for NEW
students will be accepted from October 1, 2022 – February 18, 2023.
*The following documents must be submitted to complete all New Student Applications:
o Birth Certificate **
o Baptismal Certificate (if Catholic) **
o Letter of good standing from the parish where you are registered Tuition Approval Form (if
Catholic) **
o ADW Immunization Form **
o Recommendation letter from current teacher or current report card **
o Completed Authorization for Release of Information **

After acceptance, HSA/Instructional fees of $600.00 (gr. K-4), $700 (gr. 5-8) or $300.00 (PreK) will be charged.

New Student Testing for school year 2023-2024 is scheduled by appointments only.
Your child will not be scheduled for testing and your placement will be pending until all original documents are received.

St. Columba School provides superior academics and values in a safe and supportive environment.
Yes! Potential students may benefit from a shadow day where they spend a full day at in the classroom. Pre-K4 can “shadow” for a half day. The child will meet fellow students, the teachers and staff, and get a feel for the schedule and atmosphere. You may schedule a shadow day during your school tour or by contacting the school office.
St. Columba School is a faith-based school that is open to both Catholic and non-Catholic families. Mass is held weekly and religion class is held daily. About 30% of our current student body is non-Catholic.
Yes, all the archdiocesan elementary and secondary schools within the Archdiocese of Washington are accredited by Cognia.
Certification is presented by the NCA Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement, the Northwest Accreditation Commission, and the Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement.
Yes! All applications for financial aid must be submitted online via TADS. Applications are closed for the 2023-2024 school year, but will open in October 2023 for the 2024-2025 school year.

School hours are from 7:40 a.m. – 2:40 p.m. The 1st Friday of each month is usually a half day with dismissal at 11:50 a.m.
Yes. Before Care begins at 6:45 a.m. and ends at 7:45 a.m. After Care begins at 3:00 p.m. and ends at 6:00 p.m. There is an additional fee for the ESP Program.
St. Columba School values education and not materialistic things, objects, or fads that would interfere with the learning process therefore students are required to wear a school uniform each school day. Academic uniforms must be purchased from www.flynnohara.com (school code MD141). P.E. uniforms must be purchased from the school office.
St. Columba School offers lunch daily. Parents will be given the opportunity to purchase these items in advances. If your child does not participate in the hot lunch program he/she will need to bring a lunch from home.
We offer Pre-K4 through 8th grade.
Grades 5-8 have access to 1-1 Chromebook use for in-class instruction. Additionally, St. Columba has a PC replacement program. In our computer lab, all of our computers were replaced in 2019 with new PCs running Windows 10. Each classroom has access to computers, iPads, and televisions. Smartboards are available to students as well as applications that the school purchases such as IXL, Starfall, and Brainpop. We use Rediker which has an integrated Parentportal that allows parents to see data in real time such as grades, assignments, the school calendar and much more.

The ADW curriculum contains an educational framework designed to develop 21st century skills. All curriculum standards reflect a continuum of learning from pre-kindergarten to eighth grade. curriculum documents are continually updated to ensure they are academically challenging and developmentally appropriate to encourage and nurture life-long learners.
In addition to the regular curriculum, St. Columba School offers weekly courses in P.E., Spanish, Art, and Library to all grades and Music to grades Pre-K4 to 5th grade.

B – 92-85%
C – 84-77%
D – 76-69%
F – 68-0%
