Principal’s message

Saint Columba is not just a school, but a thriving community where home and school come together to better each student's academic experience.

Our eager children have a real thirst for learning and our excellent staff team are committed and dedicated in ensuring that each and every child achieves. We have high standards and expect the best.

Dear St. Columba School Families,

I would like to officially welcome all of you to the 2023-2024 school year! As we prepare for the
upcoming academic year, I am honored and excited to extend a warm welcome to all our new and
returning families. After fifteen years of teaching, I am delighted to serve as the principal of St.
Columba School. Together with our dedicated staff and faculty, I am committed to fostering an
exceptional learning environment that nurtures each student’s growth and potential.

At St. Columba, we believe that education goes beyond textbooks and exams. We strive to create a
well-rounded, faith-based educational experience that focuses on not only academic excellence
but also the development of character, critical thinking skills, creativity, and love of Christ. Our
mission is to empower students to become responsible and lifelong learners, capable of making a
positive impact on their communities and the world.

As we continue this journey together, I want to emphasize the importance of open communication
and collaboration. We value the partnership between the school and our families, as it plays a vital
role in a child’s education. I encourage you to attend Home and School meetings, participate in
school activities, and volunteer when available.

To stay connected and updated with school news and events, please make use of our school
website and ParentPlus, our portal to access student progress. We will also keep you informed
through regular newsletters, emails, and phone calls.

Thank you for entrusting us with your child’s education. Together, let us make this academic year
at St. Columba a truly remarkable and enriching experience.

Here’s to a fantastic school year ahead!

God Bless,

Jennifer Whelan
